FAQ [continued]
Q: What is the difference between this $39.99 model and the
identical-looking $31.99 model, besides the price?
A: The difference between the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE and BLE+ models
lies in the commands they support. The BLE+ is compatible with the
latest ELM327 v2.2 version commands, while the BLE only supports
v1.4 commands. However, it is important to note that app/software
support is required for these commands, and currently, only a few
apps have implemented them. For most vehicles and apps (except for
some Toyota vehicles using OBD Fusion), the BLE model is sufficient
and will work the same.
Q: What ELM firmware version is this?
A: The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ uses ELM327 v2.2 firmware, which is a
recent version with an extended command set. Please ensure that
your OBDII app is up to date and supports the full command set.
Q: Does this work for a 2007.5 LMM Duramax turbo diesel?
A: The compatibility of the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ with a specific
vehicle model like the 2007.5 LMM Duramax turbo diesel depends on
the app you will be using. Different apps have different features
and support for specific vehicle models. Check if the "2007.5 LMM
Duramax turbo diesel" is supported by ELM327/OBD2 protocols and
then verify if your chosen app supports it as well.
Q: Does this work for a Corolla 2010 S? If so, what extra commands
could it support?
A: The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ should work with a Corolla 2010 S.
However, to access additional commands and features specific to
your vehicle, you may need to use an app like OBD Fusion (for
iPhone) or Torque Pro (for Android). These apps provide enhanced
diagnostics and support for specific vehicle codes, allowing you to
diagnose and monitor various issues with your car.
Q: What is the warranty on this product? I’ve been trying to get a
replacement and cannot figure out how to contact customer
support.
A: If you are experiencing difficulties getting in touch with
customer support, we recommend contacting Amazon support. They
should be able to assist you with any warranty-related concerns or
help you get in touch with the manufacturer, Veepeak.
Q: Will this code a new battery on my BMW X1 2013?
A: The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ has enhanced capabilities for BMW
vehicles through specific apps like BimmerCode and BimmerLink.
These apps allow you to perform functions such as coding a new
battery. We recommend checking the compatibility of your BMW X1
2013 with ELM327/OBD2 protocols and verifying if the recommended
BMW-specific apps support this feature before purchasing the
Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+.
Q: Will this scan the vehicle CVT while it's running?
A: The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ can scan various aspects of your
vehicle, including real-time sensor readings. However, please note
that some users have reported issues with the longevity of the unit
after 3-4 months of use.
