A: The Presto 02970 SaladShooter stands around 8 1/2 to 9 inches tall. It is made of plastic, so it does not really weigh that much. It is sturdy though.

Q: Can you please tell me if soft cheese like (velveeta cheese) can be grated with this salad shooter?
A: No, it's too soft. It was easier to cut into little cubes with a knife, but the salad shooter worked well on all other cheeses, from mozzarella, coby jack, Monterey jack, and sharp cheddar.

Q: Will it grate raw beets and carrots?
A: The Presto 02970 SaladShooter can slice raw carrots but we are not sure about beets.

A: Yes, it has a wavy cut blade that works great and makes fancy slices.

A: Yes, you can shred potatoes with the Presto 02970 SaladShooter. You'll have to cut the larger potatoes down so they will fit.

A: The Presto 02970 SaladShooter grates all kinds of cheeses well but not finely. It mostly produces a normal grate even with the blade that says fine.

A: It depends on the cone size that you use. The product comes with different cones for thick slices, ripple slices, medium shreds, and super shrinks. The large slice cone produces 1/4" slices, while the small slice cone produces 1/8" slices.
