Q: Is any kind of "plan" required to use this product or can I just use the SD cards to record?
A: No plan is required to use this product. You can store video clips via micro SD card 24/7 and it will overwrite once it runs out of room. Once you set up the camera and install the SD card, you just need to go to settings and turn off the option to only record when motion is detected. However, if you want online storage, you do need to pay for a plan.

Q: Can this camera be used for live viewing? I don't want to record anything. I want to remotely view a live stream from my second house.
A: Yes, you will be able to view the camera's live feed even without an SD card or a cloud subscription.

Q: How often do you have to reset the camera? How often do you have to reset the 32 GB SD card?
A: The frequency of resetting the camera or SD card depends on individual usage. However, some users have reported issues with connectivity and freezing up of the camera application.

The 6 seconds alert videos will be available for you to watch for 7 days (stored in the cloud) and the videos of the entire activity saved in the SD card will be available to you until it is overwritten and is not time-based.

Q: Can I take out the SIM card and read it in my PC? Rather than reply it in my cell phone?
A: Yes, you can read the SD card in a PC instead of a cell phone.

Q: How long does the SD card record?
A: In other questions/answers, YI has said that it will record continuously for 4 days on a 32 GB card. However, this may vary depending on individual usage.

Q: I am not getting any motion alerts anymore, what is the issue?
A: If you are close to the end of your cloud subscription, everything may start "not working" as it did before. You can try resetting/uninstalling and reinstalling the app or not renewing your cloud subscription and continuing to use cameras with just memory cards.
