Q: How long does it take to fully charge the built-in battery via hand crank?
A: Continuously turn the hand crank at a speed of 130-150 RPM/min to generate power. The unit will be fully charged in 4 hours.

Q: Can you keep the 2000mAh battery going indefinitely with cranking in case of a hurricane that knocks out power for weeks?
A: Yes, to a point. It will keep the basic radio/light going as well as a phone fully charged. We recommend using both solar charging/hand cranking and AAA batteries. Each has its strengths. In truth, this should not be your only source of power. Look into something with more power potential for long-term power needs.

Q: How many AAA batteries does it take?
A: It takes 3 AAA batteries.

Q: How long of a life does this radio have? And I am talking about its full life after charging over and over? 1 year? 2-3 years?
A: The battery lifespan is roughly 3 years (with 3 hours of use per day). This number will fluctuate depending on use.

Q: If the 2000mAh power bank is depleted and my phone is plugged into it, would the phone still charge off of the AAA batteries?
A: Yes, the batteries will charge your plugged device if the power bank is depleted.

Q: What is the SOS alarm, and does it actually send a signal?
A: If you switch to the SOS mode, the unit will emit a loud siren sound that will let people know you need help. It won’t send any radio signal or make phone calls.

Q: How long does it take to charge via solar?
A: Using the phone as a size gauge of the radio, the solar panel might be 1x3" or 3 sq.in. Using a 300W solar panel and calculating, this panel puts out perhaps.1/3 watt in "standardized sunlight." 2A*3.7v gives the Li-ion battery 7.5 watt-hours. Solar panels work 8-14 hrs but the average is "5hrs@100% (of max rating) over that 8-14 hrs. 5 days at 5 EFFECTIVE Hrs/day means 5 days for a 24 hr charge. So with 1/3 WHr x 5hrs = 1 2/3WHr/day into a 7.5 WHr battery. 7.5/1.67 = 4.5 days to fully charge the Li-ion battery via solar. A 2,000mAh phone battery is a bit small, most being ~3A or 3000mAh. If you run your phone down fully in a day, it will take 4.5 x 1.5 days to fully recharge... a week! So use 10% of your phone/day and a wee bit of the radio.

Q: Other than the AAA batteries, what else do I need to buy to operate this product?
A: You may use the built-in Li-ion battery, hand crank, and solar panel to operate this unit apart from AAA batteries.

Q: Will it charge my iPhone SE?
A: It comes with a micro USB outgoing charger. So, you'd have to ensure you have the proper cord that matches your phone's charging port.

Q: How will I know if it will fit?
