A: Nexar is compatible with iPhone 7 and above, Samsung Galaxy/S/Note 8 and above, Google Pixel 3 and below (Pixel 4 and 4a are incompatible), OnePlus 6 and above, Xiaomi: Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 Pro, Mi 6, Mi A2, LG: G6 and above.

Q: Will the app drain my phone’s battery?
A: Like any app, Nexar uses some battery from your phone, but not a lot. The Nexar app runs in the background only during an ongoing drive, so the battery consumption is minimal. You can use other apps while driving, and it won’t interfere with Nexar.

Q: How does the camera connect to the phone? Will the app consume my data plan?
A: The dash cam connects to the Nexar app using a WiFi signal (while not interrupting your data plan usage). If there’s a dangerous event like a crash or hard brake, the app uses a bit of your data plan to immediately save the footage to the cloud.

Q: Is there a monthly subscription fee?
A: No. Your payment for the dash cam also covers your lifetime use of the Nexar app, cloud storage, and network.

Q: Can I use a bigger SD card like 128GB for longer record time?
A: Yes, you can use other SD card brands that can go up to 256 GB if you wish to upgrade.

A: In terms of clip uploads during emergencies, you need to have mobile/cellular data enabled, so any incident detected can be easily captured and uploaded to your Nexar Cloud.

Q: Can I use three cameras at the same time and the same cell phone?
A: At the moment, you are only able to pair your Nexar app with one dash cam at a time.

Q: What type of cable is used? I need 20 feet of it.
A: You can buy the Dash Cam Hardware Kit - Mini USB Hard Wire Kit for a 20-foot cable.

Q: Will this record even if I'm not driving? I want to catch who's damaging my car at night while I'm sleeping.

Q: Do you have to erase what is on the SD card? What is the purpose of the SD card if it backs up to the cloud?
A: No, you do not have to erase what is on the SD card. The camera goes into loop recording so it overwrites on top of the old footage once the SD card is full. The purpose of the SD card is to provide additional storage for videos when cloud storage is unavailable.

Q: Is there something wrong with the Nexar app? I just got my dash cam on Friday, and as I’m signing up, it never sends me a code.
A: Your phone has to be compatible with Nexar. Please check if your phone meets the compatibility requirements mentioned earlier.

Q: Does it require a phone to work?
