FAQ
Q: Is this emergency radio waterproof?
A: Judging by the rubber overlays, I'd say it is splash proof, but I wouldn't try to use it underwater. It is great for picking up weak AM signals though.
Q: Does it have a reset button?
A: No, it does not have a reset button. But sometimes removing the battery works.
Q: Are the battery level percentage indicators supposed to illuminate when turning on the radio?
A: Yes, when you turn on the power, hit the power button again and the right-hand side of the screen will light up the percentage of charge. For example, if the battery is fully charged, all four blue lights will be on. These lights will go out within about a minute; so it's not a continuous read.
Q: Can you program SAME codes in this radio?
A: Not to my knowledge. It is not in the manual.
Q: Is there a battery level indicator?
A: Yes, there is a battery level indicator.
Q: How do I reset the flashing alert?
A: Hold the alert button for five seconds and it will go to the weather band. Then push the band button to switch bands.
Q: Can this radio play with Bluetooth?
A: No, it does not have Bluetooth capability.
Q: Where is this radio made?
A: Neither the radio nor the box names its country of origin, so I am guessing it is made in China unfortunately.
Q: Can you keep the 5000mAh battery going indefinitely with cranking in case of a hurricane that knocks out power for weeks?
A: Yes, you could keep the radio charged by using the hand crank and keep your cellphone charged as well. You could also use solar power and put AA batteries in the radio as backup options.
