Q: Does this system require an amplifier? HDMI plugin to and from television?
A: It doesn't require an amplifier. There are three HDMI's, two digital component inputs, one AV input, and one USB on the back.

Q: Can the control module be placed several feet away from the soundbar?
A: Yes, the wireless range of the bass module is 20 or 30 feet.

Q: Can I connect my DirecTV through the system?
A: Provided that your DirecTV box has an HDMI output, you can yes have it connected directly into the System.

- Great sound, poor connectivity. The sound is brilliant. However, the set-up is not simple, and the network connection keeps dropping. Also, the App is really 3rd rate and should be able to sync with iTunes.

I called Bose directly for their installation service, and they provided a paid installation service that came to my home and hooked up all my components, TV, video, receiver, etc., very professionally and all on one remote! I would go for a more powerful sound system from Bose. I have a SoundTouch 30, and it sounds better than this Bose Lifestyle Single bar System.
