Q: Does this work with the nest temperature sensor?
A: No, the sensors are NOT compatible with this specific one (Nest Thermostat). You also have to use the Google Home app to operate it remotely, as this Thermostat is NOT compatible with the Google Nest app.

Q: I have 4 wires, 1st wire is w/ 2nd y/3rd is g/4th is rh will this thermostat work with these wires?
A: 4 wires? Best you can do is hook up Red, Green, Common, them either; White (heat) or Yellow (AC). Hook-up which ever you need for that months weather. Then order the 5 or 8 wire cable to replace it, 8 wires would make it more future proof if you get a new HVAC system or new thermostat in 10 years. But then you can hook up all the correct wires when you replace the cable. It shouldn't be hard to replace, it's just a low voltage wire in the wall, most likely in a hallway above the HVAC unit. Everything will work now, and give you time to replace it a few weeks later.

Q: Does this smart thermostat have a lock setting? I have annoying people that like to mess with the thermostat.
A: Unfortunately, Nest Thermostat (2020) doesn't have a lock feature unlike previous Nest thermostat models.

Q: Can this thermostat function with zwave vs WiFi?
A: Unfortunately, Google Nest devices don't directly support Zigbee or Z-wave. However, it can work and control smart devices using either of the two protocols. You may need a brand specific hub or a universal hub that has a Google Assistant integration.

Q: Would I need 2 of this thermostat for a 2 story house?
A: There's only one thermostat for a home. However, Nest does sell a sensor unit that connects with the Nest thermostat. With this you can use the sensor for the main temperature of your house. Whatever temperature you set on the sensor will be the temperature the thermostat heats up or cools down to.

Q: Does this work with google home?
A: Absolutely! Nest Thermostat works with Google Home.

Q: My current thermostat looks like it has a c wire attached, am I good or do I need the adapter still?
A: If you have the C - wire attached, you won't need the adapter.

Q: Does this work with my google home pod??
A: Homepod doesn´t have any support for Nest Thermostat at the moment.
