A: No, there is no direct Bluetooth receiver in these speakers. You will need to add a Bluetooth receiver to these to get them to work. However, Herdio does make direct Bluetooth receiver speakers.

A: Yes, this pair of ceiling speakers can be connected to the stereo.

Q: Can these speakers connect to Alexa without a Bluetooth amplifier? Can you connect multiple rooms?
A: No, these speakers cannot connect to Alexa without a Bluetooth amplifier. A pair of HCS-818 speakers is recommended for use in one room. If multiple rooms are required, it is recommended to purchase multiple pairs. In addition, if you want speakers with Bluetooth function, it is recommended that you purchase HWA-16BT wall-mounted Bluetooth amplifier to use with HCS-818, or directly purchase SZJW-US818-16BT Bluetooth ceiling speaker.

1. Very easy to install with really good sound
The installation was easy and the sound quality is decent. It’s not going to compete with a Bose home audio system but it’s not priced that way either. I have these paired with a couple other sets of different sizes for a nice surround sound in my gaming room and really enjoy them.

The sound quality is very plastic-like and there is absolutely no bass. I’d recommend passing on these unless you’re not worried about sound quality.

6. Bad Customer Service from Herdio!
Terrible customer service as the product is manufactured in China and the only support is via email. Terrible response time and can't get answers to my questions.

7. More power.
At 320 watts, these speakers are made to handle a little bit of power. The flush mount design is sleek and the screws are hidden behind the mesh screen for a nice clean look.

8. Herdio customer support don't even know their own product..?
The included instruction manual made no reference to the two blue sliding switches on the speakers. When asked about them, Herdio customer service said they were only decorative and served no practical use. This was not true, as the switches are active and wired directly to the circuit board.
